Alternatives for the Uninsured

Alternatives for the UninsuredLooking for free or reduced health care can be challenging these days. Most people know about the free clinics in their area. The free clinics, known for their generosity of spirit and helping others, have experienced unprecedented demand for their services. This coupled with a decline in donations can challenge even the best run clinic. With that said, services may not always be available when you need them due to the constraint of resources.

There are a few other options for you to consider when trying to fill your health care needs:

FQHC - Federally Qualified Health Centers - are located throughout the country. They provide primary care to patients with Medicare, Medicaid, and those without insurance on a sliding scale basis. In some circumstances they may provide free care. Please check with the facility to understand if you qualify. FQHCs offer many primary care services and are generally open daily.

Urgent Care Centers - with new locations opening every week, these service providers offer immediate care for most problems. Prices can vary from center to center and depend on the intensity of service provided. We encourage providers to keep their rates up to date on WhereToFindCare.com for your consideration when choosing an urgent care near you.

Please share any ideas of how we can help each other find affordable health care by contacting us at WhereToFindCare.com.
