1. What is the purpose of WhereToFindCare.com? To let individuals find, research and rate health care facilities and services such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation facilities and home care agencies. We created this site with one goal in mind: to improve health care. We believe we can help do that by providing easy to understand quality and satisfaction information and by giving patients and their loved ones a voice.

2. Why should I rate a health care facility?  Because you will be helping your community. The feedback you leave will help your neighbors choose a health care provider and it will help providers improve their service—which improves health care for everyone.

3. What does it cost?  It’s completely free!  The only fees apply to premium listings and banner ads.

4. Why should I register?  You don’t have to register, but doing so will improve your experience on the site.  Registration allows you to save and send searches, rate services and receive updates as we improve the site.

5. What will you do with my information?  We will NEVER sell your personal information. We will aggregate and post any ratings you leave, but you will not be identified. We may also provide blinded feedback to facilities so they may improve their service, but again, you will not be identified. For more details, please read our privacy policy.

6. Where does the data come from?  We get quality data from the government’s health insurance payer, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, also known as CMS (www.medicare.gov). Facility or service ratings come from current or former patients and visitors like you. Facility contact information comes from CMS, but can be updated by the facilities themselves. Premium facility home page content is provided by facilities.

7. How are composite quality scores calculated?  The quality score is the percentage of Medicare Quality Measures that are at/above the national average. Exclusions: Hospital Mortality Indicators for AMI and Heart Failure and Renal Failure Patient Survival, indicators without sufficient sample size. Quality Data updated as of: 10/28/2008.

8. How do I advertise on WhereToFindCare.com? Click here to learn about our advertising opportunities.

9. Why don’t I see my comments?  Comments must be reviewed and approved before they are posted on WhereToFindCare.com. We will send you an e-mail notification when your comment has posted. Your rating however will be posted immediately.

10. How can I encourage patients to rate my facility/service?  You can link to us on your website, include us in your discharge process, or contact us to learn how we can tailor a patient satisfaction program to meet your needs. We can be your outsourced patient satisfaction solution and can even provide secret shopper services.

11. Can I link to this site? Absolutely! We’d love for you to link to us.

12. I have a question not addressed here. How do I contact you? Click here to contact us with questions and we will answer them as soon as possible.
