What Is A Prosthodontist?

prosthodontist
Because your bones shrink over time, you may need to have your dentures reevaluated for proper fit. Adhesives are not a substitute for a proper fit of your dentures. Patients who have problems with the fit of their dentures may choose to seek the care of a specialist called a prosthodontist. A prosthodontist has three years of additional training after dental school where they learn and become experts in fabricating dentures, among restorative procedures.

The American College of Prosthodontists accredits dentists who have advanced training. Prosthodontis specialize in dentures, dental implants, veneers, crowns as well as teeth whitening.
